técnica. Bane Of The Talebearer – Official Soundtrack começou por ser
uma ideia criativa do projeto TDW, liderado por Tom de Wit, mas
depressa deixou de caber dentro das fronteiras de um simples disco: tornou-se
banda sonora, áudio-drama, artbook e, em desenvolvimento, videojogo.
Mais do que um álbum, é um território artístico em expansão. Musicalmente, a
dimensão do projeto traduz-se numa diversidade pouco comum, atravessando progressive
metal, rock, música clássica, folk, ambient, jazz
e orquestrações. Muitas das peças funcionam como cartões de visita de
personagens e situações, embora a sua brevidade provoque demasiadas
interrupções. City Between Life And Death, com o seu sabor jazzístico,
é uma das exceções mais interessantes, enquanto When Diplomacy Fails,
único tema do disco inicial acima dos quatro minutos, demonstra como um maior
desenvolvimento poderia beneficiar a experiência. A narrativa musical ganha
espessura quando surgem os primeiros coros em The Key Repetition,
seguida pela entrada em terrenos mais sombrios de Suffering Is What Drives
Me e The Black Falcon Mirage, com ambientes que evocam Daemonia.
No segundo CD, a dimensão orquestral e coral de Our Own Sacred Place e
os vocalizos etéreos de Not Here Anymore tornam tudo mais introspetivo,
religioso e espacial. E é no final do terceiro, sobretudo a partir de And
Now We Die Together, que surge mais agressividade, a coincidir com
composições mais longas e apetecíveis. No fundo, Bane Of The Talebearer –
Official Soundtrack é um universo vasto, irregular na dinâmica, mas
